Mathematics Links for 3/12/2007

Posted by alicemercer on March 10, 2007

This week, we do more on Decimals, Fractions, and Percents. I’ve put the tessellation site for fun.

This week’s mathematics question. You must answer in a full sentence or sentences, and explain how you solved the problem. Answers that don’t have that, will not be posted.

Question:  What is the area of a triangle where the base is 10 cm, the sides are 6 and 7 cm, and the height is 8 cm? What is the perimeter of that triangle?

  1.   leticia Says:

the answer is 40cm2 because you multiply 10 times 8 and you need to divide the 8 and times 10 times 4 which = 40cm2

  2.   Erika Says:

Ten plus six plus seven plus eight equals thirty-one is the awnser.

  3.   Alice Says:

    10 plus 7plus 8plus 6 equals 31.

  4.   alicemercer Says:

Okay, you all have half the answer. One of you gave the area, and the others gave the perimeter. I asked for both. Good work, but remember to read the whole question.
