Parmele by Eloise Greenfield and Lessie Jones Little
The main character was Eloise Greenfield who is a young girl going to visit her grandparents in North Carolina.
The story is about Eloise going to visit her family in Parmele, North Carolina. She shares stories about her grandfather, who hated to have them leave, but wouldn’t visit them at their home in Washington, D.C. He has to move with them to Washington, D.C. but he always missed his home in Parmele.
6. The story took place in the past. I would not want to live in that time, but I would like to visit it for a short time. I would miss things we have today (computers, and air conditioning) too much.
8. Pa reminded me of my mother-in-law. She was from the country too, and talked the way that Pa does. She was not like him though, because she left the country and made a good life for herself in the city.
